Net Zero by 2030
Our objective is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030. We are working with all our suppliers to make better purchasing and design decisions prioritising sustainability.
We understand the fashion industry's significant environmental impact and recognise the challenge of making substantial reductions. However, we must educate ourselves and our supply chain to strive for improvement. We are committed to making a positive difference within our industry and leading the fight against climate change.
We have pledged to reach net-zero emissions for our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, setting our target 20 years ahead of government goals. Additionally, we are currently developing plans to address our scope 3 emissions.

Expertly designed and confidence boosting
We are not fast fashion, we develop confidence boosting post-surgery bras and swimwear. Our team spend time developing styles that fit different surgery needs, and we working closely with our team of wear test customers who have all had surgery.
The Trulife ActiveFlow bags are waterproof and reusable – the idea is that customers use them to transport their wet ActiveFlow breast forms.
We offer a monthly bra, swimwear and breast form donation service - we work with charity partners to repurpose pre-owned items.

Sustainable fabrics and less waste
The Nicola Jane design team are working with our factories to increase our fabric sourcing to include organic cotton, Tencel – made from wood cellulose, bamboo and Cupro – a waste part of the cotton plant.
These materials are soft, durable and sustainable. It is important to us that we continue to provide the best quality materials to our customers and design garments that are suitable for their intended purpose. Learn more via the link below.

Recyclable bags and less plastic
All plastic bags used on Nicola Jane products have been changed over to PE-LD Polyethylene - Low Density poly bags which can be recycled. Our aim is to switch to HDPE as it is more widely recycled.
Where possible we develop and design products using end of line fabrics with a smaller MOQ which limits waste and fabric going to landfill.
Our garment information where possible is printed directly onto the garment and all product hang tags and plastics Kimble's have been removed from the 2024 product range. Removing plastic that might have ended up in the ocean.

Sustainable website - green hosted by Rackspace
We are proud that our website is recognised by the 'Green Web Foundation' as a green website, helping to lead the way to a sustainable internet in the future.
One day the Internet will run entirely on renewable energy. The Green Web Foundation believes that day should be within reach, and develops tools to speed up the transition towards a green Internet.

Corporate responsibility - Head Office and Shop
At our head office, shop and despatch offices we recycle everything we can including all our returns packaging and delivery boxes. We have also switched the packaging of all our retail orders to recyclable bags, and now use recycled tissue or paper Hexwrap.
Nicola Jane operates a paper-free office and encourage as little paper waste as possible. All paper and card is recycled and we have banned the use of single use plastic bottles in the office. All of our print media is printed on FSC approved paper and we ensure our printing partners are using sustainable practices.
Where possible we schedule ‘virtual’ meetings and attend UK trade shows to reduce our use of air travel therefore our carbon footprint. We encourage our employees to walk to work and limit the use of cars where possible.

Responsible purchasing - making decisions with integrity
It is important to us that our suppliers uphold our same level of integrity when it comes to responsible purchasing. We are continually are asking for supplier updates on their sustainability plans and exchange ideas for us all to do better.
We work closely with our factories and suppliers to ensure we deliver responsible employment and working conditions – see our modern slavery statement for details.
All of our supplier meetings where possible are linked with a tradeshow UK visit or with training. We also consolidate branded buy in to avoid unnecessary product deliveries. This helps us to reduce our carbon footprint.
