The Big Tea Cosy With Breast Cancer Haven
The Big Tea Cosy is Breast Cancer Haven’s latest national fundraising campaign. See how we got involved...
At Nicola Jane we often hear how Breast Cancer Haven has supported many of our customers throughout breast cancer. When we heard about Breast Cancer Haven's national fundraising campaign The Big Tea Cosy, we jumped at the opportunity to take part and support our local centres. The Big Tea Cosy invited organisations, businesses and groups to host their own Big Tea Cosy tea party.
On Monday 12th March our Leeds shop were first to hold their Big Tea Cosy tea party. Customers from the local area were invited to join Cath, Joan, Moira and Amanda from the Leeds shop team for a cup of tea and a slice of cake with all proceeds donated going to their local Breast Cancer Haven, Yorkshire. As an extra special touch Moira who is an amazing baker, baked a tea cosy-themed cake which would rival any showstopper piece from The Great British Bake Off! We weren't the only ones impressed by Moira's baking skills, as she was selected as the winner of Breast Cancer Haven’s Best Bake competition, winning an Emma Bridgewater china set!
Next, it was our Chichester shop’s turn and on Monday 26th March customers from the local area turned up to help us fundraise for the Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex. With a counter full of homemade cakes and the kettle on, Kay and Louise from the Chichester shop team had a steady flow of customers throughout the day.
Did you know that together we have raised £8,700 for Breast Cancer Haven? Through various fundraising initiatives we have taken part in and through our October Sale contribution you have helped us raise an impressive £8,700, all of which will help to provide free personalised support for those affected by Breast Cancer.
